We will knit both socks all at once, so no second sock syndrome! The first sock will be knit Toe-Up and the second sock will be knit Top-Down – in one continuous process. Then we’ll cut them apart!!!!!!!!

TECHNIQUES COVERED • Judy’s Magic Cast-on
• Magic Loop
• Toe-up sock construction

• Adding a waste yarn section
• Top-Down sock construction
• Grafting the toe
• Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-off

This pattern is written for four sizes: (See foot circumference to determine best size) Women’s Small (Women’s Medium/Men’s Small, Women’s Large/Men’s Md, Men’s Lg)

Foot circumference:
7 (8, 9, 10) in. / 17.5 (20, 23, 25.5) cm. unstretched. Will stretch to fit 8 (9, 10, 11) in./ 20 (23, 25.5, 28) cm

Go to Ravelry to purchase and PRINT the April Fool’s Sock pattern and bring with you to class.

You can choose the yarn weight you want to use. The pattern has instructions for Fingering, Sport or DK.

Fingering: Women’s Sm: 350 yds (Women’s Md/Men’s Sm: 375 yds, Women’s Lg/Men’s Md: 400 yds, Men’s Lg: 425 yds) Sport: Women’s Sm: 275 yds (Women’s Md/Men’s Sm: 300 yds, Women’s Lg/Men’s Md: 325 yds, Men’s Lg: 350 yds) DK: Women’s Sm: 250 yds (Women’s Md/Men’s Sm: 275 yds, Women’s Lg/Men’s Md: 300 yds, Men’s Lg: 325 yds)

NEEDLES: 40 inch length in size to match your yarn choice Fingering: US 1 (2.25 mm) or size to get gauge
Sport: US 2 (2.75 mm) or size to get gauge
DK: US 3 (3.25 mm) or size to get gauge

4 yards waste yarn in the same thickness as your chosen sock yarn, in a contrasting color

Knit a swatch – in the round!!
Cast on 32 stitches, knit to end of row,
DO NOT Turn, let yarn flow along back of knitting (similar to doing an I-cord), keep this strand of yarn loose enough so that at the end you can flatten out your swatch to measure it,
Then slide knitted stitches to other end of needle.
You are imitating knitting in the round – so just knit each row, never turning.
Complete 20 rows of stockinette stitch, bind off but don’t cut yarn;
Soak swatch and let dry flat without pinning or stretching.

Supplies must be purchased at BMYS.  Thank you!
