Originally from the beautiful state of Colorado, we didn't exactly envision ourselves as farmers. Luckily, we found 5 scraggly wool sheep on Craigslist, and the rest is history.

We were enthralled with observing and caring for our small starter flock, and began dreaming about other animals we could integrate on our little parcel of land in the Swannanoa Valley. We researched and learned about inter-species and rotational grazing, and how animals can play a part in healing the earth while nourishing our bodies with their meat. We selected specific heritage breeds of livestock from The Livestock Conservancy’s Priority List that are critical or threatened, and we take great pride in being a part of their conservation efforts. We now have heritage chickens, ducks, cattle, and hogs, and expanded our flock of sheep to include a threatened breed as well.

Soon enough we were dreaming of how we could impact our local community with ethically raised meat and fiber products. And here we are! We now call the great town of Old Fort, NC home. We love the community we have built here and the greater WNC region over the years. We’re proud to provide meat to local restaurants and our neighbors alike. We feel honored to be a part of the intricate fabric of small-scale farmers in Southern Appalachia. We’re so glad you’re here!
